Upton Sinclair won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1943 for "Dragon's Teeth," part of his eleven-novel Lanny Budd series about twentieth-century history. Sinclair is better remembered for "The Jungle" (1906), which exposed Chicago's meatpacking industry. He was a socialist muckraker whose fiction served political purpose.
