Rebecca Yarros wrote contemporary romance for a decade before dragons changed everything. The sequel, Iron Flame, broke presale records. Yarros brings a military sensibility to her fantasy; as the wife of a combat veteran and someone who has lived on Army bases, she knows how institutions shape people. Her books are long, immersive, and unapologetically romantic. Before writing, she worked as a paralegal and raised six children. She has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, which influences how she writes characters with disabilities. She lives in Colorado.
