Robert A. Heinlein dominated American science fiction for four decades. His juvenile novels of the 1950s trained a generation of readers, and his later adult work pushed the genre toward social and sexual provocation. He won four Hugo Awards and remains one of the 'Big Three' alongside Asimov and Clarke.
